PROVENPLAYS ENTERS THE SPORTS FANTASY ARENA

A revolutionary fantasy sports platform, ProvenPlays.com delivers a credible and trusted community of sport fan picks.

WASHINGTON, DC – September 8, 2009 – “Are you fan enough?” In conjunction with the start of the competitive 2009 college football and NFL football seasons, NSRB Inc., a DC based firm, is expected to launch a new and innovative fantasy sports website called ProvenPlays.com.  ProvenPlays.com is a free, technologically advanced and interactive website dedicated to tracking, sharing and selling sport fan picks.

The site seeks to expand the fantasy sports landscape by building a competitive community of sport fanatics that enables them to uncover and share their distinct knowledge of players and teams.  ProvenPlays.com is focused on becoming the most widely referenced and trusted pro and collegiate pick source and community because of its 100% transparency and reliability.  The site has been in development with its technology partner ISGPrime for the better part of two years and is ready to open its doors and become a leader in the fantasy sports world.

“There are thousands of sites with variations of sports content; blogs, articles, fantasy information and games etc., but ProvenPlays.com is strictly about the picks, the stats and the personalities behind them,” said Nik Scalise, CEO of ProvenPlays.com.  The site has also leveraged social media.  The past few years, social networking has changed the face of business and online communities and finding the right mix of tools is vital to ProvenPlays.com’s subscriber adoption, retention and growth.

Some of the newest features available to subscribers this Fall will include a revolutionary buy and sell pick platform for distinguished experts and rookie prognosticators and an authentic, uniquely designed pools section, which allows fans, friends and affiliates to compete in public or private leagues.

August 10, 2009 Newsletter

August 9, 2009 · Leave a Comment

August 10, 2009

I thought it was fitting after the first NFL game of the 2009 season to reach out and provide everyone an update on the latest with ProvenPlays.  As some of you have realized, we took the site down just after the NBA playoffs to revamp the site for our official 2009 public launch.  Over the past season we received tremendous feedback and recommendations on how best to enhance the community and functionality of the site.  I will spare you all the details and laundry list of new features but hope you all return this season.

We are finalizing and testing the new makeover during much of the pre-season but most likely will have the site up and running in the next few weeks.  In the interim, you can follow me personally on twitter @PPNiko and our blog provenplaysblog.com.  Upon site release, our previous @ProvenPlays will become a community activity feed.  Lastly, feel free to Fan Us on our recently created Facebook page; Facebook – ProvenPlays.  I will be sure to notify everyone upon site release!

Big shout out to ISGPrime who has been an incredible technical partner making our visions a reality.

Thanks and we look forward to an amazing 2009 season!

NFL Wilcard Weekend

January 2, 2009 · 1 Comment

Saturday, January 3

4:30PM  Falcons @ Cardinals

First off, lets make sure that we all realize that travel will have no impact on his game. The Falcons are a feel good story of the NFL and I cannot help but to cheer for them in this one. Kurt and the Cardinals offense have been non-existent the past few weeks and their inability to establish any sort of run attack will hurt them in this matchup. While the Falcons present a serious threat with the ball, they are still having trouble on the defensive side. I think the Cardinals turn the ship around and we see a lot of points in this one.

Over 50.5

8:00PM  Colts @ Chargers

Believe it or not, Peyton has found a way to win his MVP award and make the playoffs after they struggled out of the gate.  The Chargers act the same way EVERY year and back their way into the post season.  However, they are hot and at least of a balanced attack.  Eventhough the Colts have Peyton, I just do not think this offense clicks like it has in the past.  The Chargers have some very altheltic players in the secondary which will match up well against the pass happy Peyton.  I am not a fan of Norv or even Rivers for that matter but, I think the Chargers will find a way to come up with some stops and drive the ball down the Colts throat.

Chargers pick

Sunday January 4

1:00PM Ravens @ Miami

This one is quite simple.  Regardless the questionable players I will ride the Ravens defense against Miami’s lack luster set of wide receivers and Chad’s weak arm.  Although I like what Miami has done this year, I just do not see them moving the ball against the very fast Ravens defense.  Not much to say about the Ravens offense but MccLain runs people over and Flacco will shine with some huge play action down field passes and then rely on his D.

Ravens -3

4:30PM  Eagles @ Vikings

I do not know, cannot come up with any reason to take either side.

Best NFL Turnaround: Falcons or Dolphins?

December 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

You could have given up drinking the rest of your life that neither of these teams would make the playoffs in 2008 season, much less BOTH!

As a Redskins, fan this is very tough to watch regardless how these teams perform in the Playoffs.  What achievements these teams have made in such a small window.   Not quite sure everyone understands the how impressive the turnaround has been, so I mapped out some stats just so we all can appreciate.

falcons

2007 (4-12)                            2008 (11-5)

Offense

2007 PPG – 29th                           2008 PPG – 10th

2007 Passing – 24th                     2008 Passing – 14th

2007 Rushing – 23rd                    2008 Rushing – 2nd

Defense

2007 PPG Agst – 28th                   2008 PPG Agst – 22nd

2007 Passing Agst – 26th             2008 Passing Agst – 22nd

2007 Rushing Agst – 26th            2008 Rushing Agst – 23rd

Notes:  Huge turnaround on the offensive side of the ball, way to go O-coordinator Mike Mularkey!  Combined categories have resulted +50 league ranking spots, +50!  +50 with Vick gone, rookie coach and QB, W. Dunn and A. Crumpler gone and one WR to speak of in R. White.  Come in Michael Turner with his 1,700 yards, 17 TDs, yes 17 TDs and Matt Ryan 3,400 yards, 16 TDs and a 87.7 rating.  The passer rating in one year is better than Vick realized in his entire career.  Defensively they still need work, but given that coach Mike Smith is a defensive minded man, they can only improve.

Falcons(-2) at Arizona

Falcons can score and Arizona is not going to stop them.  Thank being said, Warner is best at home and the Falcons are weak on the defensive side as well.  Given the Falcons advantage with run and pass, the Falcons win this game.

dolphins

2007 (1-15)                              2008 (11-5) *Divisional Title

Offense

2007 PPG – 26th                        2008 PPG – 21th

2007 Passing – 24th                  2008 Passing – 10th

2007 Rushing – 23rd                 2008 Rushing – 11th

Defense

2007 PPG Agst – 29th                 2008 PPG Agst – 8th

2007 Passing Agst – 4th             2008 Passing Agst – 25th

2007 Rushing Agst – 32nd          2008 Rushing Agst – 10th

Notes:  Bill Parcels came to the helm with his man Tony Sparano as the head coach who had been with Dallas as well for 4 years.  Sparano clearly made a difference with his O-line experience and drafting of Jake Long.  40 sacks against in 2007 compared to 26 in 2008.  Bring in Chad Pennington, re-sign Ricky Williams and pump up Joey Porter and suddenly they found a team.  Defensively, they have made great strides particularly against the run and in points allowed.

Baltimore(-3) at Miami

Miami does have trouble scoring and it will not be any easier against Baltimore.  Baltimore has been all run as of late which Miami does fall into the better aspect of Miami’s defense.  However, given Miami’s 5-0 streak has been against Rams, Bills, 49ers, Chiefs and Jets, I will go with Baltimore.

Regardless I will be cheering for the Falcons and Miami, well done!

ProvenPlays.com Top 5

December 22, 2008 · 2 Comments

Our Top 5 will be unique sports news or other abstract findings I come across in the world of sports.

The Top 5

1. This one has to go to Ines Saintz Gallo.  Apparently in January 2008 she requested an interview with TO and the rest is history.  Before that, in the World Cup 2006, her (ass) exploded on the reporting scene with her flirtatous manner with the male crowds.  Love how non-US reporting can be so open and sexy!  Enyjoy your google image searching.  Here is one link to get you started, http://www.lazygirls.info/Ines_Sainz?loc=0

ines_sainz-441 ines_sainz_ines_sainz12_qw5q18mthumb ines_sainz_ines_sainz7_kuuy3ossized1

2. DeAndre Brown’s broken leg in the New Orleans Bowl December 21, 2008.  Do not watch if you cannot handle these sort of things.  I inadvertantly saw the video that ended with some dry heaving!  Needless to say, it is scary a leg can break by just running a fly pattern.

3. Got to like the Jets Shaun Ellis’s effort in throwing a huge snowball back at the Seattle fans.  SportsByBrooks led me on to this one.

4. In 2003, Shaq had a comedy Roast for Emmitt Smith Retirement.  Among the personalities who appear are comedians Dick Gregory and Jeff Ross, Smith’s teammates Daryl Johnston and Michael Irvin, and sportscaster Stuart Scott.  Watch what Jamie Fox does to an unknown comedian, Doug Williams.  So bad!  You have to youtube Jeff Ross as well, it is hysterical.  Some people were having trouble viewing the embedded version, so search Jamie Foxx Doug Williams on you tube.

5. Detroit Columnist, Rob Parker, questions to Lions head coach Rod Marinelli after the beat down by the Saints.  “Do you wish your daughter married a better defensive coordinator?”  Check out the full article and Fox post game panel video, courtesy of Deadspin.  No wonder his Wiki entry says “DOUCHEBAG”!

Week 16 Picks

December 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Lets get right to it:

Panthers @ Giants (-3.5)

The Giants, believe it or not, are going in the wrong direction and need to prove today that they are back on track.  Panthers are red hot and are familiar with Meadowlands after they pummeled the Giants a few years back in the playoffs.  I do not like the .5 hook and will take the HOT Panthers running game and play against Eli’s struggle to find a WR.

Panthers +3.5

Chargers @ Bucs (-3)

The Bucs need some help, they need a win and loss by Atlanta and Dallas or Eagles.  Well Dallas dropped one last night and with Falcons on the road at Vikings, it looks promising.  The Chargers are quietly in major trouble.  Norv has lost this team and no one respects his authority and coaching.  The Buc’s defense will prove to be the difference today and I look for Garcia to have a huge game against a struggling Chargers defense.

Bucs -3

Cardinals @ Patriots (total 43)

Weather is awful, Cardinals have nothing truly important on the line.  Boldin is out and Patriots have to win next 2 games to make the playoffs.  Ball control, ball control.  Cardinals cannot run the ball, certainly not in this weather and Kurt is not productive in these conditions.

Under 43

Bills @ Broncos (-6)

May be a sucker but I am following all the teams that NEED wins for their playoff future.  Broncos win and they are in.  The Bills just do not impress me especially when they need to move the ball.  Cutler and the Broncos defense have been all over the board this season but I look for them to light it up today and actually expect a BIG win here.  Many think the Bills will keep in close but no this one.

Broncos -6

Eagles @ Redskins (+5.5)

Well, there is no reason anyone thinks the Skins can win or even keep this game close.  Being a huge Skins fans, I originally thought much of the same.  That being said it is a divisional game, Skins have played Eagles well winning the last 2-3.  With a rare shot at the post season, Zorn wants to prove his worth and grit that he is the coach of the future.  Look for the Skins to open the book big time and create problems for the Eagles.  Skins get 24 points today!

Redskins +5.5
